Description of Position
The Cowichan Valley Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is seeking community-minded volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors.

This is a policy board that oversees, but does not manage, the ongoing operations of the Society. We are seeking directors with to provide leadership and bring a variety of skills and experiences to the valuable work of the Society; expertise with Mental Health issues is provided by the professional staff;

Board members are expected to attend one directors’ meeting per month and to serve on at least one committee.

Mental Health and Addictions affect all of us, and for many years the Cowichan Valley Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association has provided effective community services.

Current youth programs include:
• Bike Works – Art Works
• Youth Outreach Engagement Project
• Sexual Abuse Intervention Program
• Disordered Eating Program
• Family Capacity Program
• Malahat Nation Girls Program
• Affordable Counselling

Programs for adults include:
• Warmland House Emergency Shelter
• Sobering and Assessment Centre
• Warmland House Transitional Apartments
• Community Client and Tenant Support Program
• Housing Outreach Program
• Bounce Back: Reclaim your Health
• Affordable Counselling
